Welcome back!

Hello and  welcome to the  P2M class blog.  The children have all settled in well during our first week of the new session and I am delighted to have them as a class.  As I know many of them from my time in the nursery, I believe this has helped to ease their transition. They have all grown up so much!  We also welcome two new members to our class, Charlotte and Majus who are both settling in well.

We have been very busy this week getting accustom to our new routines.  The children are embrassing the flexible seating arrangement and are all eager to try out the weekly activities.  Additional to the core learning and teaching they are asked to carry out a number of tasks, take a picture of them when completed, with their name card attached,  and transfer this onto the target boards.  This encourages independence and develops their organisational skills, whilst also making them accountable for their own learning.

This weeks tasks included making their name with play dough, to help develop their fine motor control, complete a jigsaw puzzle with a partner, to strengthen their ability to work together and also develop perseverance skills, a number pegging activity, to consolidate their counting, number knowledge and again fine motor skills and they also had to build a house using the loose parts materials which demonstrated their creativity and individuality.

The children have been so proud of their work and are eager to take a picture and tell me all about it!  We have also been busy with core learning tasks and lots of play too.  Take a look at the pictures below.
