P2M That’s All Folks!

We had our final Show and Tell session of the year.  This week we found out about favourite toys, some art work and a little baby brother!  Thank you once again to our class photographers.

Last week lots of us had a great time at our school disco.  Here are some photos of the night.

Well we have now come to the end of a very busy year.  Thank you to all of our families for your fabulous support.  Your children have worked very hard and it has been a pleasure being their teacher for the last term.

Have a lovely summer and we will look forward to seeing you all in August.

P2M Countdown to Summer!

The summer holidays are getting closer but we are still so busy!  Here is a little snapshot of our week.

We have been continuing to enjoy using the loose parts in our playground.  We have been making obstacle courses as well as enjoying some relaxing time!

On Wednesday we took part in the Redwell Marathon.  EVERYONE in our class ran at least a mile and altogether we ran 38.5 miles!  Mrs Morton was amazed at our achievement.  Thank you to our families and friends who came along to cheer us on and to run with us.  That’s what we call team work!

Wednesday was a really busy day for us as we also had a visit from Mr McLaren who is a local farmer.  Mr McLaren told us all about his farm, what happens throughout the farming year and about the animals and plants he grows on his farm.  We all enjoyed looking at some of the plants and at the fantastic pictures he showed us.  The combine harvester was our favourite.  This was a fantastic way to finish our Food and Farming topic  and also make links to real life jobs. (Thank you to our P2M photographers!)

During our Show and Tell this week we found out about snorkelling, favourite toys, and saw some very cute baby photos.  Well done everybody!  Thank you to E and M for being our photographers.

Finally for this week, we met up with Mrs Johnstone to find our how the school gardens are getting on.  We had a look at the planters and the vegetable garden and we were able to pick some lettuce and beetroot.  We also helped Mrs Johnstone and some community volunteers who were constructing a path near our pond.  It was a messy job but someone had to do it!  Mrs Johnstone is doing a fantastic job in our grounds and we have really enjoyed working and learning with her.

Please remember to look out for any reading books which may still be at home and return any sponsor money as soon as you can.

Thank you!

Working With Others

We started off the week with soft start in the sunshine.  Groups have been enjoying being creative with the loose parts in the playground.  Other groups worked together with other activities such as number games and making silly sentences.

During our Show and Tell this week we found out about favourite toys, pets, special stones found on holidays, exciting holiday rides at Disneyland, birthdays and some judo moves! Thank you to Evie for being our photographer.

We were using the laptops to develop our maths skills on Education City this week.  Our friends in P6 came along to help us too.

On Thursday Mrs Ahmed told us more about Islam.  Mrs Ahmed brought in a beautiful prayer mat and her prayer beads to show us.  We found out lots of information and we asked really good questions.  Thank you Mrs Ahmed!

Also on Thursday, P7S told us all about a project they have been working on about the use of palm oil and the dangers to the world’s rainforests.  We listened really carefully to the presentation and it really made us think.

A few things for next week:

  • We will be taking part in the Redwell Marathon on Wednesday.
  • Please return your child’s Learning Journal if you have not already done so.
  • As we get closer to the summer, please  return any reading books that you may have at home.
  • As usual please sign your child’s Golden Diaries and help them return it to school on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend!

P2M Busy Bees

We have come to the end of another busy week.  We can’t believe there is only 3 weeks left of P2!

Some of our class helped Mrs Johnstone in the school gardens today.  It was hard work helping with the weeding (and messy fun too).  Mrs Johnstone was telling our gardeners about the vegetables we are growing and about how helpful bees are in the garden.  You are amazing Mrs Johnstone, thank you for your help.

We have been writing character descriptions and settings for our own imaginative stories this week.  They are fantastic!

In Maths we have been learning more about < > and =.  The class were very confident with this concept.

At show and tell this week, some members of our class have been sharing information about their favourite toy, their pets and about foxes.  We can’t wait until next week.

Our Final photos this week are of some very proud P2 learners:

Please remember to sign and return Golden Diaries on Monday, thank you.

Have a lovey weekend.
