Anagrams #3 – Scottish Cities, Towns and Villages

In keeping with our ‘Scotland’ theme, here are some more anagrams for you to  unscramble.

This time, the answers are all names of cities, towns and villages around Scotland.  The majority are located in the North-East, though there are a couple from farther away.

Let me know how you get on!

Art Appreciation Discussion – Spicy/Hot

Following on from last week’s ‘Become an Art Critic’ post, I thought we could meet up here to have a discussion regarding the paintings.  You can have another look at them here before adding your comments below:

My personal favourite from the ones I posted is number 5 – ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent van Gogh.  It depicts a moonlit scene with a large cypress tree in the foreground and a small town in the background.  The most noticeable thing is, however, the sky.  The artist has used bold, swirling brushstrokes to create a sense of movement.  This makes me think that he may have been upset or agitated when he was painting this.  The cypress tree in the foreground is buffeted by the wind, perhaps reflecting van Gogh’s own inner turmoil.  It is not a calming painting, but I love the colours and the wildness of the  swirling starry sky.

Let’s hear your thoughts!

Well-Being Wednesday: Mr.Mutch vs Mr.Reid #4

MR.REID IS ON A MISSION!

The teachers are back and this time they are back outside.

Last week’s challenge was really hard but we can tell most people certainly had a growth mindset and took on the power of ‘YET’. Families were messaging saying that they were spending the whole week trying and trying again. Even though some of you didn’t manage it is important to know that you never gave up. Maybe, one day you will be able to build the tower.

This week we learn about how Mr.Reid is getting on in lock down. I wonder how he is feeling?

This Week’s Challenge

Skipping

You will have 60 seconds to skip as many times as possible on the sport.

Enjoy this week’s episode and don’t forget to send in your scores and find out where you place on the leader board next week.

Literacy: Pobble: Hot

I love creative writing, especially when I have to think of a story with very little to go off of. It could be a picture, a video, a song that could be the inspiration for a story and from there you can build the world of your story to be anything.

I was really intrigued to give the Pobble HOT challenge a go, it was going to be my first HOT Challenge and I was really excited to try it. I felt much more confident after following Miss Deans Sway the other day on how to help build my story. She gave me tips and different things that I could consider to help make my piece of writing better.

On the website link there were lots of things to do relating to the picture so I decided to give them all a go and hopefully they would help me to create my story.

Here is a PDF link to my finished story, it can also be found at the end of my sway.

Pobble About to Hatch Story Starter

This is a great little project that can be completed over a longer period of time and it has all been created from one picture! How have you all got on with your Pobbles?
