Invitation to participate in Safer Internet Day 2019
Scottish Government and the UK Safer Internet Centre are delighted to invite Angus Council to participate in Safer Internet Day (SID) 2019. Celebrated in over 140 countries, SID aims to empower children and young people to use technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. Safer Internet Day 2019 will take place on Tuesday 5th February 2019, with the theme ‘Who owns the internet?
It’s easy to become involved
Safer Internet Day 2018 was supported in the UK by over 1,700 organisations, including local and central government, companies, charities, police services, schools and wider. We would be delighted if you would join us to celebrate Safer Internet Day 2019! It’s simple to get involved:
- Sign up to the SID newsletter: You’ll be notified when SID supporter registration opens, hear about events, materials and marketing for SID 2019.
- Talk to staff: Register as a SID supporter and use your internal communication channels to encourage the parents, carers, aunts, uncles and grandparents who work for you to talk about SID and online safety with the children in their lives.
- Educate young people: Schools, youth work teams, colleges, universities, early years and voluntary organisations can use the free SID educational resources with young people aged 3 – 18.
