Parental engagement officers will visit venues across Angus to speak with parents and focus groups of young people will be listened to in each school.

Glow Account

Glow is an online closed environment with access restricted to learners,  teachers and others directly involved in the delivery of education.  Access to Glow services are controlled by an individual Username and Password for each user.

Cyber security best practice suggests Glow users should do the following:

  • Keep your password to yourself
  • Never let anyone else access Glow using your account details
  • Never access the system with another user’s login details
  • Always choose a password in line with the guidance found here: https://glowconnect.org.uk/password-guidance/
  • Always choose “no” when prompted to save your password on a device which you share with others
  • Always sign out fully from your Glow session when no longer using it

You should always follow the guidance about internet safety provided by your school, remembering to keep yourself safe online. See the Glow Community Rules for more information.

Password Reset

Following our discussion with the Glow Key Contacts who attended Friday’s meeting, it was agreed that a password reset of all student accounts would take place and be initiated by Education Scotland on their behalf.

Education Scotland have therefore reviewed suitable end of term dates and are planning towards a change of password on Thursday 21st June.

Protecting People Information Gathering

posted by Fiona Pollock, Organisational Development Facilitator, Angus Council

Dear Colleague,

As you may be aware a review of the multi-agency child protection core training programme is underway and a similar review of the adult protection core training programme has been approved and will commence shortly.  The aim of these pieces of work is to ensure that multi-agency learning provided meets the current needs of the workforce in a flexible and resource efficient way.

With the training reviews in progress this is we felt this is an ideal time for us to consider what topics might be effectively delivered on a Protecting People basis – so open to the whole multi-agency workforce and not specifically targeted to either the adult of children’s workforce.

We are very keen to gather views from workers on the frontline to ensure that we are identifying the right topics to deliver in this way.

We have kept this survey very short (only 5 questions) and would be grateful if you could spare a few moments of your time to share your views.  To access the survey please follow this link

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TFT9TJL.

The survey will remain open until Friday 29th June.

Many thanks in advance,

Theatre in Scottish Schools Programme

posted by Amy Gibson, YMI Coordinator, Schools & Learning

Hello All

I would like to share with you the Theatre in Scottish Schools Programme for next year, some of you were able to tap into some performances last year it would be great to bring them back up to Angus, Friockheim nursery have already booked ‘The Attic’ themselves as they enjoyed last years performance!

I am aware the last year there was contributions from HQ but unfortunately there is no budget to do that again this year.

If you would like to book any of the performances or would like to know more about them please give me a call/email or feel free to contact Anna directly – if you could keep me in the loop that would be great!

Thanks
Amy
