Performing P2 pupils with Piper Jack Newth and Drummer Joe Fleming
On Monday 14th December a selection of P2 pupils took part in the Pipe Drumming Showcase at Hayshead Primary. Pupils performed 3 times to a mix of pupils and parents, with audiences of 200.
All Primary 1 and 2s have all been learning pipe drumming form August to December with Joe Fleming from D2 Percussion. This project is funded by Youth Music Initiative.
Links have been made with Arbroath Pipe Band where Pipe Major Ryan Kennedy and Jack Newth supported the pupils playing Highland Cathedral at the performance.
Julie-Anne Ogilvie an ex pupil of Hayshead, who attends Arbroath Academy where she is part of Rock College used this opportunity to perform ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ by Olly Murs. Rock College is funded by Youth Music Initiative.
This was part of a much bigger show of Christmas Drums and Conga where all P1 & P2s pupils showcased songs, dancing on the Christmas theme.
