CLIC Targets for the week 21/02/2022:
C – Counting Along (Step 2): I can count along even when the numbers aren’t written in. Use a number line, ruler or other object with the numbers written in order but with missing numbers.
L – Practise these facts: Please see Google Classroom for facts to learn.
I – X10 & ÷10 (÷10 – Step 1): I can divide multiples of 10 by 10. For example, 130 ÷ 10 = 13
Remember to:
-take the zero off the units end
-remember that this moves the digits one place to the right
-remember that this makes the number 10 times smaller
Try these: 360 ÷ 10 = __, 720 ÷ 10 = __, 940 ÷ 10 = __, 250 ÷ 10 = __, 170 ÷ 10 = __
C – Subtraction (Step 28): I can take any 2-digit number from 100. For example, 100 – 35
Remember to:
-find the gap to the next multiple of 10
-find the gap from that multiple of 10 to 100
-add the 2 gaps
Try these: 100 – 26 = __, 100 – 42 = __, 100 – 57 = __, 100 – 71 = __, 100 – 83 = __
Please note that we have covered some of these targets before. We are reviewing these for consolidation. You can practise these targets each day.
CLIC Targets for the week 07/02/2022:
C – Count Fourways: I can count in 1000s
Start at 0 and count in 1000s. Once you can do that easily, try counting back in 1000s or try starting at a different number and count on in 1000s.
L – Practise these facts: Please see Google Classroom for facts to learn.
I – X10 & ÷10 (x10 – Step 1): I can multiply whole numbers by 10. For example, 13 x 10 = 130
Remember to:
-place a zero on the units end
-remember that this moves the digits one place to the left
-remember that this makes the number 10 times bigger
Try these: 34 x 10 = __, 89 x 10 = __, 56 x 10 = __, 28 x 10 = __, 63 x 10 = __
C – Subtraction (Step 27): I can any 2 digit – 2 digit question. For example, 46 – 17 =
Remember to:
-show the gap on a number line
-write in the next multiple of 10
-jump to the next multiple of 10 using your jigsaw numbers to 10
-jump from the multiple of 10 to the target number
-add the 2 jumps
Try these: 37 – 18 = __, 96 – 48 = __, 84 – 56 = __, 73 – 28 = __, 82 – 59 = __
Please note that we have covered some of these targets before. We are reviewing these for consolidation. You can practise these targets each day.
CLIC Targets for the week 31/01/2022:
C – Counting Multiples (Step 5): I can count in 4s.
Start at 0 and count in 4s. Once you can do that easily, try counting back in 4s or try starting at a different number (2 for example) and count on in 4s.
L – Practise these facts: Please see Google Classroom for facts to learn.
I – Jigsaw Numbers (Step 3): I can find the missing piece to 100. For example, 54 + __ = 100
Remember to:
-make the units digits total 100
-make the tens digits total 9
Try these: 37 + __ = 100, 84 + __ = 100, 76 + __ = 100, 43 + __ = 100, 62 + __ = 100
C – Subtraction (Step 26): I can find the 2 gaps in a 2 digit – 2 digit question. For example, 46 – 17 = 3 + 26.
Remember to:
-show the gap on a number line
-write in the next multiple of 10
-jump to the next multiple of 10 using your jigsaw numbers
-jump from the multiple of 10 to the target number
Try these: 32 – 18 = __, 93 – 46 = __, 81 – 58 = __, 75 – 27 = __, 83 – 56 = __
Please note that we have covered some of these targets before. We are reviewing these for consolidation. You can practise these targets each day.
Our P4 Pupil of the Week last week was:
For perseverance with a tricky Maths concept and excellent group work skills during our SSPCA visit!
Well done Sebastian! Keep up the great work! We are very proud of you!
CLIC Targets for the week 24/01/2022:
C – CORE numbers (Step 3): I can understand 2-digit numbers.
Remember to:
-order the numbers by their tens digit
-then, if they have the same tens digit, order by the units digit
Put these in order from smallest to largest: 53, 31, 17, 13, 91, 67
L – Practise the facts of the 4x table up to 12 x 4. Try playing a game like Hit the Button to get faster!

Learn that half of…
-300 is 150
-500 is 250
-700 is 350
-900 is 450
C – Subtraction (Step 25): I can take a multiple of 10 from any 2-digit number. For example, 46 – 20 = 26
Remember to:
-set out the gap on a number line
-find the tens digit of the gap by comparing the two 10s digits
-check the units digit hasn’t changed
Try these: 63 – 30 = __, 97 – 70 = __, 71 – 40 = __, 86 – 60 = __, 54 – 20 = __
