On Friday 1st December we held our very own sponsored danceathon “Strictly Come Scotstown”. This school fundraiser had everyone at the school dancing at some point in the day from 9am till 3.15pm.
We wanted to do something a little bit different to raise money for school resources but also to have a bit of fun and keep healthy too! There was a lot of interest outwith school as we had a live broadcast on Original 106 and there was also an article published in the Evening Express.
Every class had a session with Mr Mundie, dancing to some classics like Agadoo, The Birdie Song and The Macarena to name a few. We also had DJ Miss Ross on the decks at breaktimes so the children could carry on dancing in the playground. It’s safe to say, neither will be pursuing a career change soon! A huge thank you to Dance Instructor Hayley Brown and Ballet Teacher Miss Laura for coming in to work with classes too.
Thank you to everyone for sponsoring our dancers and although we don’t have a final total yet, the amount that has come in already shows how generous people have been. Finally, well done to all the dancers and if he had been here, it would’ve been a 10 from Len.
