Last Thursday Kilcreggan Primary and Pre-5 pupils took part in an Eco Day. Parents and friends were also invited along to help. Activities included; weaving where pupils cut strips from old carrier bags and weaved them through the School fence, kite making, a treasure hunt in the School garden where pupils had to find leaves, insects, plants that matched a colour chart, decorating bird nesting boxes, amking bird feeders and listening to the sounds around us. As you can see from the pictures we all had a great day, despite the weather!

SKIPATHON AT KILCREGGAN PRIMARY
SKIPATHON & RED, WHITE AND BLUE DAY
AT KILCREGGAN PRIMARY SCHOOL
On Friday 11th October our pupils took part in a Skipathon in aid of The British Heart Foundation for which the pupils were sponsored. Each class had spent some time learning skipping routines set to music and parents and friends were then invited to attend a demonstration. On the same day we were all encouraged to wear red, white & blue and make a donation to support The Armed Forces charities.

Last Friday our Primary 5/4 class gathered brambles from our School grounds and apples from fruit trees planted by pupils and parents earlier this year. They then came back into class and made apple and bramble crumble. There was enough for every class to try some! As you can see from the pictures it was delicious.
SPORTS DAY AT KILCREGGAN PRIMARY
Kilcreggan Primary School held its Sports Day this afternoon. The weather stayed fine and spirits were high. Parents and friends had a great afternoon with parents taking part in a race at the end of the day. The pupils were arranged into teams and progressed around a number of activities with points added up as they went along. The final two races were a relay and an obstacle course.
NEW GREEN FLAG FOR KILCREGGAN PRIMARY
PRIMARY 2 & 3 VISIT THE SS GLENLEE
Our Primary 2/3 class visited the SS Glenlee last Friday. They had a great day dressed as pirates and learning about life on the ocean waves as a pirate. At the end of the afternoon they were sent on a treasure hunt and all came back to school with a “pocket of gold”. Well worth a visit if you are looking for an exciting day out for your class.
Kilcreggan Primary School Visit Glasgow Science Centre
Our Primary 4, 5, 6 & 7 classes visited the Glasgow Science Centre on Wednesday 29th May and had a very exciting day. After spending the morning looking at exhibits they went in to the laboratory and learned all about how to extract DNA. Each child came back to school with a unique necklace containing a sample of their DNA!

Toyota Cross Country Relay Championships at the Duchess Woods
Kilcreggan Primary School P6 and P7 pupils took part in the Toyota Cross Country Relay Championships at the Duchess Woods, Helensburgh today. Our teams competed against a large field and all crossed the finish line in grand style. Congratulations to them all and a big Thank You to Denise Walker, Margery Taylor and Toyota Helensburgh for organising the event.

Our primary 6/7 class took part in the Inter-Schools Cross Country Competition held at the old Hermitage Academy last Friday. Despite very cold and damp conditions they all enjoyed themselves and participated enthusiastically. A big thank-you to Martin Caldwell and his team for organising the event and to all those parents and staff who attended last Friday.

OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALIST VISITS KILCREGGAN PRIMARY
Yesterday we had a visit from Luke Patience who competed in the 470 class at the 2012 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal. Luke spent the afternoon with us talking to pupils and staff about his training, sponsorship and winning a silver medal. Mrs Pender, our Primary 3/2 class teacher taught Luke to dinghy sail when he first took up sailing, so this visit had an extra special meaning for her.

HELENSBURGH TOYOTA DREAM CAR WINNER
We are thrilled to announce that one of our Primary 7 pupils – Stewart Peden – gained first place in the age 10-12 category of the Helensburgh Toyota Dream Car Competition. Stewart attended a prize-giving ceremony at Toyota, Helensburgh on Friday afternoon where he was presented with a DS 3D and £200 towards School Funds. TEDDY FINDS A NEW HOME
Mrs Currie, our Pupil Support Assistant at Kilcreggan Primary, donated this chocolate teddy to school to raise funds for new playground games. Pupils and staff had to guess the date of Teddy’s birthday and we raised £44! Thank you to Mrs Currie and congratulations to Caitlyn. We hope you enjoy it!
TOYOTA ART CAR VISITS KILCREGGAN PRIMARY
Last Friday (11th) the Helensburgh Toyota Art Car visited Kilcreggan Primary School. Pupils were invited to draw their own designs on the car, which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
