The Islay Primary Schools Bands had a fantastic Band day last Saturday 24th February 2018. Eight professional musicians travelled from the mainland to work and play along with our young musicians.

The day started with the primary children attending various instrumental workshops which everyone really enjoyed and this was followed by a full Band rehearsal which was great fun. After lunch, the High School pupils also attended instrumental workshops then both professionals and students also came together for a Band rehearsal.

After much needed tea and cake, we held a concert for parents and the local community. The Primary band was first up and played four pieces which they had only learned that week! All the professionals performed stunning solos and showed our young players that practice does indeed make perfect!

A brilliant day, thanks to the visiting musicians and congratulations to all our young musicians, you were brilliant!
