Despite being a wee bit late, on Wednesday 13th June, ourwonderful catering staff cooked, baked and created a magnificent buffet – fit for the Queen herself!
As soon as we had sung ‘God Save the Queen’, the children and staff tucked into the most delicious food – smashing sausage rolls, vol-au-vents, coronation chicken, sausages, chicken wings, super sandwiches, scrummy salads and much more. Tables groaned under the weight of the food!
Union Jack bunting fluttered over the heads of the children. All of the plates, cups, hats and even Mr Olivers bowtie were decorated with Union Jacks but nothing prepared Bowmore Primary School for Mrs Paisleys glittery headband with two Union Jack flags attached to it – wildly waving about the whole day!
Elgar’s ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ provided the perfect background music to this delightful event.
We all had a brilliant time and as well as acknowledging the work the Queen has done over the last sixty years, everyone at Bowmore would like to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of our catering staff and a HUGE thank you to our driving force behind this special day, our lovely dinnerlady, Mrs Linda Thomson.
Always lovely to hear news from my old primary school. Well done Bowmore.
