Kilchrenan Primary held it’s annual hill race, as part of it’s school sport’s day, on Thursday 14th June.
The pupils are challenged to run to the top of one of the three single track roads that lead to school. This challenging event, which all pupils try, tests fitness and stamina, and that has seen a noticeable improvement following the decision to hold weekly Forest Schools events. All pupils were able to regain normal breathing within 30 secs after the run.
The winner of the Junior Race (half hill) was Logan Black (P1), and the Senior Race, for the second year, was Angus Harris-MacLeod.
Well done Kilchrenan! Keeping fit and building up stamina. The nearest we do to this here is our annual Cross Country Run in Helensburgh. We train for it at an After School Club and then the Run is in March. For a small school we had some very good positions/times this year.

Thank you.
I think the pupils would love a cross country run. We found, through Forest Schools, that they are very sure footed in the woods and fields, because of where they live and play, and this helped them in orienteering. But a cross country chase…. Thanks for that!
