Book Week Scotland ran from 25th November until 1st of December. At Kirn, we thought what better way to get involved in Book Week than for every child at Kirn Primary to be part of publishing our very own book, full of stories written by our very own pupils?
In conjunction with Scholastic’s ‘We Are Writers’ service, an amazing story by every child from Kirn Primary School has been included in a real paperback book, available for parents to buy.

Our pupils’ stories tell how a famous character comes to visit Kirn Primary and spends the day in our school, with results which range from the unexpected to the hilarious, featuring a huge range of different characters all chosen by the children. The Pre-5 children related how Alice visited their Nursery, Gangsta Granny came to school, Rapunzel and also Tinkerbell, who gave a workshop and even taught the teachers how to fly.

Our pupils are amazed and delighted to open our book and see their name printed under the title of their story – they really are writers!
