ECO DRAMA

Schools on Islay had the pleasure of hosting a visit from the Eco Drama group this week, who presented an ecological fable inspired by the true story of Eigg, a self sustainable island not far from here. Through interactive storytelling, live music, eco gadgets and numerous characters, Eco Drama brought to life a story about climate change, positive thinking and community spirit. Children were able to learn how the Isle of Eigg has become energy self sustainable using hydro cars, boats run on candle wax and solar and wind powered electricity generators. A lively and engaging performance enabled children to really understand the issues involved, and a hilarious time was had by all. They even traveled here in a distinctive van run on chip fat from the ferries! Port Ellen would like to thank those involved for bringing an us an enjoyable and thought provoking experience. Wouldn’t it be great if Islay could become energy self sustainable too?

They then used these photos to create an information book about shapes which included facts about each shapes features. We even worked together to create a shape powerpoint which includes interesting shape facts and some of the photos they took.
