P4 Poetry

Primary 4 have been learning to write poems over the last few weeks. We have written poems about Fireworks, World War 1 and Water. We tried to include lots of interesting “wow” words, adjectives and onomatopoeic words, and use tools such as rhyme and alliteration. Come and read our poems – they are displayed on the wall outside our classrooms.

Fairtrade Recipe Book

Thanks to all who bought our Fairtrade recipe book and supported Fairtrade and Action Aid. Thank you also to all who contributed to the production of the book. We have sold lots of copies and raised £152 for Action Aid’s Child Sponsorship programme. Don’t worry if you forgot to order a copy – we will continue to take orders for the book after the holidays. Just bring in an envelope containing payment (£3 per copy) and a note with how many copies are required. Our partner school, The Universal School in Mumbai, will also be selling the book in their school.

Whoops-a-Daisy Angel

Our nursery boys and girls performed beautifully in our Nativity, Whoops-a-Daisy Angel. We all remembered our positions on stage and made sure all of the mummies and daddies could hear our super singing voices. We all looked so angelic. All of the nursery staff were extremely proud!

Primary 1’s Noisy Nativity!

On Tuesday 16th December Primary 1 invited their families and friends to watch them perform their Noisy Nativity. Everyone was a star! The narrators remembered their words and had clear loud voices. Our musical instrument players showed great rhythm. Our actors showed confidence acting and dancing on stage. There was lovely singing from everyone and well done to ‘Mary’ who sang ‘Away in a manger’ beautifully! We hope you enjoyed watching our show as much as we enjoyed performing it!

Christmas in P4

We have been busy preparing for Christmas. We made some Christmas cards with penguins, robins and santas. We also learnt how to draw elves for a display which is up in the schools Big Hall for everyone to see.
We would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

P3 Katie Morag Showcase

Last week, family and friends of Primary 3 children were invited into school. This gave the children the opportunity to share what they had been learning in the Katie Morag topic. There was Scottish country dancing, Gaelic and Scottish singing, storytelling, puppet shows and artwork. The children showcased all that they had done and parents had to join in too! It was a very successful morning and we have received lots of positive feedback.

Primary 3 Panto Trip

Primary 3 had a wonderful morning at Howden Park Centre watching Cinderella in panto. The children thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas treat and the chance to exercise their lungs! There were lots of laughs and a few surprises (who knew that the ugly sisters were trolls?)
