Literacy – Fitness Diary

 Writing:

L.I: To organise my writing

S.C: I can write a fitness diary for each day of the week

This week we are asking you to keep track of your fitness using a diary.  You can use this template, write in your own diary or write in your jotter/on paper.  Included is an example diary to support your writing.  There is also a helpful hints page and a self-assessment page should you wish to use them.

Remember to include the days, dates, timings, activity, who you did the activity with, where you did the activity, and how it made you feel.  It is your diary so use ‘I’ and ‘my’ when you are writing.

Friday 5th June

Good morning P2

Hope you have all enjoyed music week. Did anyone take part in the Samba challenge?  I hope you had fun.

Reminder- Virtual assembly today at 9.15am, come and join us if you have a sibling in P4-P7.

Today we are going to choose our favourite song and write a review about it.

Writing:

L.I: To write a musical review

Choose your favourite piece of music and write a review about it. Remember to write in clear, full sentences with capital letters and full stops. If you are being expressive include an exclamation mark!

Include:

-Artist name and title of song

-Why you like the piece (remember to use ‘because’ to explain why)

– What instruments you can hear

– How it makes you feel

– Would you recommend it to a friend?

– Some fun facts about your chosen band/artist

Here is my example:

My favourite song is ‘Can’t stop the feeling’ by Justin Timberlake.  I like this song because it reminds me of Sophie’s dance show, car journeys with Sophie and watching Trolls.  In the song, I can hear singing, drums, electronics and clapping.  I feel happy when I listen to this song and I can’t help dancing along to it.  If you like Justin Timberlake or if you like upbeat songs that you can dance to then I think you would enjoy this song.  The song is the official song for the movie Trolls, which I love watching with Sophie and Phoebe!  Did you know Justin Timberlake is the voice of the character Branch?

Problem solving:

L.I: to use mental strategies to solve a problem.
