P3 ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ›

Today, P3 took part in a special assembly all about Mary, mother of Jesus. P3 worked very hard to prepare for the assembly and were excited to share their learning with the school and parents.

During the assembly, we shared the importance of Mary and learned why the month of May is dedicated to Mary by the Catholic Church.

P3 spoke clearly and confidently while sharing their knowledge and even sang a hymn for everyone. We were very proud of the effort everyone put into their reading and speaking in front of an audience.

P3 showed excellent teamwork and respect throughout the assembly and demonstrated great confidence. Thank you to all the families who came along to support us.

Well done, P3, on a wonderful assembly! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we also began our new life cycle topic. We started by exploring the life cycle of a frog and watched a fascinating time-lapse video showing each stage of its development. We then compared the frog life cycle to the human life cycle, discussing the similarities and differences between them.

On Wednesday, we received a very special delivery of caterpillars! We carefully found them a safe home in our classroom and have loved observing and looking after them each day. P3 are very excited to watch them grow and change. Next week, we will continue our learning by exploring the caterpillar life cycle in more detail. ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ›

Primary 1

This week in Primary 1 we received a special deliveryโ€ฆ. Caterpillars ๐Ÿ›. We were all very excited about watching them grow and taking care of them. Some of us remembered caterpillars ๐Ÿ› from nursery but we couldnโ€™t remember any details about them. Everyone has agreed to take care of them and we are keen to learn how they turn into butterflies ๐Ÿฆ‹.

On Wednesday we ย took part in our school committee groups where get to make leadership choices about our school. We all enjoy getting to work together with boys and girls across the whole school.

It was was a bit confusing ๐Ÿซค to have a Thursday off school but when we came back in on Friday we enjoyed telling all our friends about what we got up to on our extra day at home.

Everyone has shown a keen interest in making paper aeroplanes โœˆ๏ธ this has been lots of fun designing then and seeing whoโ€™s aeroplane โœˆ๏ธ could fly the furthest.
Have a lovely weekend ๐Ÿ˜€

TheLifeOFTay!

Well!….Despite having a couple less days in school this week, we have still managed to pack a lot in!

We have loved our time in the Sensory Room and with the drier weather have taken our Sensory learning experiences outside with our tuff tray. In class we experimented with mixing different colours of sand. We have also loved experiencing the squeeze sock!

In class we have continued to work on our pencil grips, number bonds, shape recognition.

Another busy, busy, week…and we’re already looking forward to Monday!

Lomond Class

Lomond class enjoyed the sunshine last week – whilst developing balancing and climbing skills at the Trim Trail.

Learning in literacy and maths continued- some of us enjoyed online activities on our new Promeathean board.

We had fun in PE with Mrs M. ย A few of us focused well on learning basket ball skills with help from the PE student teachers.

Yesterday we did some printing with paint to create our ladybird inspired pictures.

P5 Update 1.5.26

Itโ€™s been a busy week with Matilda preparations and our assembly performance. We really hope you enjoyed it if you managed to get along today. The subject choice, saving the ocean, is something that P5 have loved learning about and feel really passionate about. Thank you for taking the time to come along.

Primary 1

With the weather improving Primary 1 have been enjoying some time outdoors.
During outdoor learning we had to measure different things outside. We worked with partners to completed this and enjoyed being up in the woodland area.

In our PE sessions as well as enjoying our equipment session we have been practicing outside for sports day coming up. Everyone is excited to be taking part in sports day.

In RE this week we learned the Story of the Good Shepherd and discussedย how God is our Shepherd and he tries to guide us safely.

On Thursday we went a walk up to the nursery to visit our friends. Lots of us were talking about our time at nursery and how we missed our friends. This gave us the opportunity to talk about how some of these friends will be coming to school soon and we will be moving to Primary 2. We had a lovely time and decided we would like to go back again.

On Friday we enjoyed the Primary 5 assembly about oceans, we found this very interesting as we have been learning about oceans and creatures that live in them.

We hope everyone has a lovely long weekend ๐Ÿ˜‰ hopefully Mr Sun โ˜€๏ธ will stay out.

TheLifeOfTay!

In a sun drenched week we have enjoyed sensory exploration with coloured sand…we loved the feel!!

We have also been to the park where we climbed, swung and slid! We have also enjoyed time on the Trim Trail too!

In class we have built towers, designed peg board patterns and explored shapes and number bonds. We are also moving on apace with our Literacy skills and are starting to look at middle sounds as well as initial sounds.

We have had a lovely busy, busy, week!

Happy Campers- Day 3

We couldn’t ask for better weather this Camp. Fun in the sun!

Question of the day: If you could travel forward in time- what question would you ask yourself? (very philosophical bunch)

Both groups enjoyed cereal and waffles for breakfast before heading into the sun. Both groups experienced Leap Of Faith- and everyone had amazing success. Big shout out to everyone who overcame their fears. Some of us enjoyed Archery, Bushcraft and Problem Solving. Camp fire with singing and marshmallows brought our day to a close. Of course, last night at camp had to involve a wee ‘party’ where lots of the treats people had stored were shared to music and dancing! Leo and Zak in particular enjoyed Michael Jackson!

Tomorrow is another exciting day. We will be leaving Broomlee at 1:30pm with lots of memories and smiles.

Pervious picture posts have not had all the pictures we intended due to an IT issue= we apologise and hope the pictures below all load up!

See you tomorrow.

Happy Campers Day 2

Question of the day… who doesn’t love mac and cheese with garlic bread?

Good News!! Everyone slept very well- no issues reported and the first night was just amazing!

An early start after a hearty breakfast- the day started cold and cloudy but moods were bright and happy. Morning activities were Cat-Walk and Problem Solving. Many of our young people challenged themselves today, especially overcoming heights and team challenges. The crate climb record was broken today- an amazing height of 11 crates carefully and strategically placed to help the teams succeed. Catwalk was an amazing experience where all our young people climbed high, and managed The Macarena dance at some point during the descent! Problem solving tested our resilience, whilst Nightline helped hone our communication. Environmental Studies taught us about improving our natural surroundings. At this moment, we are running around camp looking for clues to answer questions- hide and seek General Knowledge style.

In spite of tired legs and heavy eyes, our amazing bunch of campers just keep going.

Enjoy the pictures.
