Notification of any disruption to school provision, including before school starts or while the school day is running, will be transmitted to parents through the Groupcall text messaging system. It is essential that we have up to date contact details for all children – please ensure that you contact the school office if your child’s information needs to be updated. WLC will also provide information via announcements on local radio stations such as Forth One and Real Radio. Social media websites may also be used by WLC. Should a decision to close, or partially close the school have to be made during the school day, our plan is to ask parents/carers to collect children from school by entering the building via the main entrance doors and gathering in the small hall. This will allow you immediate access to a warm place to queue and there will be guidance inside the small hall on the procedure for collecting children. The person collecting each child must be on the child’s emergency contact list. If this is not the case, parents will need to advise the school of the name/relationship of the person collecting their child before they will be dismissed. As an additional check, we will ask the person collecting each child to sign against the child’s name. Staff may also ask to see some form of ID if they do not know the person. I am sure all adults will appreciate the need to make this process safe for all of our children. Thank you once again for your continued support of the school.
