Primary 2 RME

Primary 2 have been making mezuzahs and learning about Jewish things and we know everything about mezuzahs.  by Andrew

Mrs Hull’s challenge: how many of you in Primary 2 can show your mezuzah to your family and explain what it is for? Leave your comment on the blog when you have done it!

P6 Christmas Fair goodies

In P6 we have been looking at persuasive writing. Molly Gilles and Kristinna Sharp produced a fantastic advert each to persuade you to come to our Christmas Fayre. The children have been working with P7 to produce a range of goodies to sell at the fair. Also P5, P6 and P7 have been practising some lovely Christmas carols to entertain you with at the Fair! See you on Friday!

P1 and P1/2 Enterprise

This week, Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 have started their enterprise project: to design a ‘sweet treat’ to sell at the Christmas Fayre.

First, we talked about the foods that we eat at Christmas. Then, we looked at Christmas magazines and cut out all the sweet things that we could find. After that, we worked in groups to think of things we could make to fit into small sweetie cases. Some of the ideas we came up with were, gingerbread men, marshmallow snowmen, truffles and reindeer biscuits.

Next week, we will decide our top products and plan how we are going to make them.

Homework task.. If you have time this weekend, could an adult bake or make ‘sweet treats’ with their children to practise baking skills.

Craft for Enterprise After-school Club

After our successful sale at the end of last term, the club are pleased to announce they made £40.59 profit.

We have decided to use this money to buy new materials for our next sale.  Following a long discussion we agreed to spend most of our money on ‘Fimo’ and we are currently busy making new crafts each Monday.

Thank you again to all those who visited our stall, we hope you liked our crafts.
