Literacy
Literacy has been a little bit different this week as we have been writing, reading and listening in Scots. We are preparing to perform a very special dance for you all and we have had to follow the steps to the dance in Scots words. We played a fun game of ‘Simon Says’ in Scots and learned lots of new vocabulary. In writing we had to add the speech, thought and caption text to ‘The Broons or and ‘Oor Wullie’ comic strip. We are looking forward to creating our own next week.
Numeracy
In maths everyone has been focusing on the topic ‘Time’. Most of us are very confident using 24 hour time so we have started trying to solve time problems using different types of timetables. James, Finlay C, Finlay B and Kristinna got 10/10 for their CLIC challenge after a long break away from completing one. Well done! I’m looking forward to more people with full marks next week.
Expressive Arts
Our focus for Scots week is Scottish solo artists or Groups. We researched some Scottish figures and created factfiles about them. Lots of people chose Calvin Harris or The Proclaimers. We have been listening to a selection of music from Scottish singers and groups then we talked about how we felt about the music.
