Primary 2

What were we learning?

To learn more about emotions we can experience.

How will we know if we were successful?

  • We can use lots of different ‘emotion words’.
  • We can talk about how our body feels.
  • We can talk about how we show our feelings.

What did we do?

We looked at the emotion ‘grumpy’ and brainstormed all of the different words we knew that meant the same thing, like ‘fed up’ and ‘annoyed’. Miss McLaughlin was so impressed with the words we knew! We discussed what being grumpy feels like (our body sensations) and came up with words like ‘shaky’, ‘warm’ and ‘tingly’. We then read the story of ‘Mr Grumpy’ and began to talk about how he showed how he felt (his behaviours). We will be using lots of ‘Mr Men’ and ‘Little Miss’ stories to explore our emotions and build our vocabulary.

  1. I loved the Mr. Men books. Mr Mean was my favourite. I always thought i would not want to be like him. What a great way to learn about emotions 😊
