This week we have been learning Scots poems and researching famous Scottish explorer and missionary, David Livingstone. The poems we have been learning are: ‘Free Boots’ by Douglas Barber, ‘A Red, Red Rose’ by Robert Burns and ‘Tam o’ Shanter’ by Robert Burns. We are focusing on using lots of expression and varying our tone of voice.
Here are some quotes from our class about our work this week:
“I didn’t know Livingstone died of malaria until now.”
“It’s surprising that Livingstone had a job at the age of 10.”
“I want to find out how Livingstone travelled from Scotland to Africa.”
“I really like Tam o’ Shanter because it is advanced.”
“I like the Scots language in our poems.”
“Come a’ ye citizens tae oor Scots assembly later this term!”
