As promised in an earlier post here are some of the wonderful sculptures in the style of Andy Goldsworthy that the P2 children made from the materials they collected. Enjoy!
Sad news about Fergus
Mrs Hull is sorry to say that when she went round to water Fergus the Sunflower on Friday, he had snapped in the wind.
Now we won’t be able to enter the West Lothian schools sunflower competition – but the Eco group will have a go at growing our own sunflowers to take home. We could have a whole team of Ferguses growing in and around the school to find out the best place for next year’s competition!
P1m
This week P1m held elections for our Eco Rep. Well done to Lauren, who had her first meeting on Tuesday!
We have been enjoying joint Golden Time with our nursery friends and are very excited about them coming into Primary 1 in August!
Looking forward to another busy week 🙂

P7 School Camp
Camp was amazing but we are all tired!! It was a great experience and we were all very well behaved. More to follow/ Watch this space!!!!
Primary 2 learn about Kiddush Cups
Last week Primary 2 children made Kiddush cups. Kiddush cups are used by the Jewish people on Shabbat. The cup we saw on the internet was more than 100 years old. Kiddush cups are for drinking wine out of, after you say a blessing.  We will learn more about Shabbat in Primary 3.
Fergus update
Oooh dear – we are worried about Fergus. He’s looking rather frazzled by the wind. We gave him a good drink of water mixed with plant food today, and hope this will give him the energy he needs to grow some new leaves. Come on Fergus, you can do it!
P5 Weekly Blog
It has been another busy week in P5! This week we have been learning about similies. We are now hoping we will be able to use them in our writing. We were also learning about bones and why they are important. We did a problem solving activity where we made our own skeletons. When they were finished we got them dancing to a little bit of Michael Jackson’s Thriller!
Primary 3
This week our two new eco reps have been chosen who will represent the class in primary 4. Well done Hannah and Aaron! We have also began our new topic, hot and cold lands. We have started researching the Arctic and are discovering lots of interesting facts!
Primary 6 Poets
P6 have been writing poems in the style of poet Charles Causley’s ‘As I went down Zig Zag’. Here are some examples of our favourite stanzas:
As I went down Zig Zag
The clock striking two,
I saw a man bouncing
Like a purple kangaroo.
As i went down Zig Zag
The clock striking eight,
I saw a bike which ateÂ
A sparkly chocolate cake.
By Zoe Evans
As I went down Zig Zag
The clock striking one
I saw a man dancing
When the party was done.
As I went down zig zag
The clock striking three
I saw an old lady drinking
Tea in the sea.Â
By Connor Ramsay
As I went down Zig Zag
The clock striking eight,
I saw a boy going
For a long skate.
As I went down Zig Zag
The clock striking nine,
I saw a girl singing
A nursery rhyme.

Eco Club off for one week
There will be no meeting of the Eco club this week (Thu 16th May) as all the teachers will be at a training meeting. The Club will be back again next week so don’t forget!
In the meantime, Eco People, your challenge is to take some Eco Action at home and post news of it on the Blog!
