P1 & P1/2 Victorian Tea Party

This week, Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 have been very busy preparing for the final part of their Birthdays topic – our Victorian Tea Party! We have been busy making bow ties and headbands to wear and have been practising how to use a cup and saucer – ask us to show you how! We are very good at it now! We have also been preparing Memory Bags for our grown ups to show them what we have learned through this topic.

Grown ups..

Please wear your finest garments and we will meet you at 11.45am to escort you into the dining area.

Primary 5 Linlithgow Trip Photos

Finding out about life in a Burgh town.
Experiencing what punishment in the stocks was like...even though we didn't commit any crimes!
Finding out about different trades within the Burgh of Linlithgow
The statue of Mary Queen of Scots in Annet House gardens...we even bowed and curtsied when we saw her!
The Great Hall in the palace where they would have celebrations and feasts.
Our P7 guides telling us all about the fountain in the courtyard of the palace.

Primary 5 Linlithgow Trip

We had a fantastic trip last week to Linlithgow Palace, Linlithgow High Street and Annet House Museum.  We really enjoyed exploring the Palace and learning new games and information from our brilliant Primary 7 Guides from Linlithgow Primary School. The sun even shone when we had a picnic lunch in the beautiful gardens at Annat House.  At the end of the garden we saw a statue of Mary Queen of Scots looking over to the place she was born, Linlithgow Palace.  It was a great day that we all really enjoyed and some of us are planning to go back again in the future.

Primary 3

Primary 3 have left the Victorian times in their time machine and landed in the 1960’s! We have been comparing music from the 1960’s to now and have been finding out about the fashion from that time. We designed our own sixties clothes using the same bright and bold patterns that were used then.

P7

P7 were thinking about the question –  how do you know if you have learned or improved?

It was a tricky question.  Here are our thoughts:

– getting faster / better

– things seem harder but then easier to learn

– I can achieve new things that I couldn’t do before.

– I can answer questions but also know after thinking time

– I know I know because I’m confident

– Teacher feedback – stickers / marking

– Peer feedback

Does anyone else have any ideas?
