Today we spent a lovely sunny afternoon out in the school garden with Sarah-Jane. She taught us about the different vegetable families, including which parts of the plant we eat, what different seeds need to grow and how gardeners plant them. We then had the chance to get our hands dirty (some dirtier than others!) by helping out with jobs in the garden. We planted potatoes, sweetcorn, pumpkins, kale, onions, garlic, leeks, brussel sprouts and sunflowers. Thank you Sarah-Jane, it was great fun!

Vandalism
The police visited school this afternoon to look into some recent vandalism which has greatly upset our pupils and staff. Â Our shed in the garden area was damaged, as were plants and other equipment.
We all work very hard in school to make our learning environment interesting and engaging and this behaviour sets all of us back. Â Please ensure you reinforce the impact that this has on everyone with your children at home.

P1 Baby Chicks
Primary 1 have been very excited this week about the arrival of our chick eggs. 9 eggs arrived in their incubator on Monday. Nothing happened until Thursday when 6 chicks hatched! On Friday morning, another baby chick had arrived. So far we have 4 girls and 3 boys. We moved the chicks from the incubator into the brooder box this morning. We made sure to have fresh food and water ready for the chicks before we moved them.

Le Blog de P6
Bonjour! Today P6 learnt how to give and follow simple directions in French. We learnt how to say ‘go straight on’, ‘turn left’ and ‘turn right’. We then played a game of Hot and Cold in French; one pupil had to follow directions from the class in French to find a hidden object. We called out ‘chaud’ (hot) when they got close and ‘froid’ (cold) when they were far away. Unfortunately, technology let us down today so we don’t have a video but we will try to one for the blog another day!
