Termly Learning Overviews – Term 2

The termly learning overviews for this term have been sent home in your child’s bag and are now available to download from the blog.

Click here to download your child’s learning overview.  This is a useful document to share learning with your child, and for you to see what is planned this term.  If there are any aspects of the overview which you think you could support with, please let your child’s class teacher know.

Pupil Views

At Pumphie Pals last week we asked pupils to share what they think makes our school great and what they think we could improve on together.  The results have been organised below and they make for terrific reading.  Our pupils clearly love their school, and enjoy having a say in how we do things at PUSCPS.

Shared Snack

We are nurtured and healthy in Primary 5 and  love spending quality time together eating snack. Today we had the choice of toast, beans, carrots and mandarins.

Can you help?

As you know we are being inspected by HMIE next week.  It is extremely important for the inspection process that your views as parents are heard.  At present we have a very low number of parents available to speak to the team and I’m hoping we can encourage more of you to come forward to speak to the team about your school.

The meetings are planned for Tuesday 14th, probably one in the morning, one in the afternoon and we can add another meeting in the evening at 5pm if that is easier for you to attend.
If you can make the time, they will only last 45 minutes or so, we would really appreciate your support.  Please email the school office wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk with your details and availability.
Many thanks,

P6 Weekly Blog

We would like to tell you what we have enjoyed learning last week:

‘I enjoyed using ambitious openers in my writing.’ Emma

‘ I enjoyed converting between 12 hour analogue times and 24 hour digital times in maths.’ James

‘ I enjoyed applying our learning in time differences by making up our own questions for the group.’ Katie

‘ I enjoyed developing my readings skills by predicting what I thought would happen in my new book ‘Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator.’ Erin S

P2-4 Golden Time

On Friday, Miss McLaughlin and Mrs Ross took their group for some outdoor fun!

We gathered different natural items (leaves, stones, shells) and turned them into a masterpiece by the library! Can you guess who we made…?

Primary 7

This week we had a Halloween themed maths challenge and in science we designed electrical circuits with a Halloween theme. We also had fun at the Halloween disco.

If you are planning on going to a firework display, please remember the following:

  • Only adults should light or set up fireworks.
  • Stand well back when watching fireworks.
  • Never go near a firework that has been lit.

If you are given a sparkler…

  • Always wear gloves.
  • Hold it at arm’s length.
  • Don’t touch it when it goes out.
  • Put it end down in a bucket of water.

Have fun and stay safe!
