Primary 4 Catch-Up!

Primary Four have been very busy recently! We have been doing a lot of reflective reading in groups looking for information and using this information to answer questions.

We also got a new visitor who will be staying with us for the month… his name is Peppy and he has been up to all kinds of crazy things already!

Finally, we have been working on writing our own song with Miss Mulholland. Each group made up their own beats, pitches and lyrics and we began to perform our own sections this week. They are sounding great already!

P6 Weekly Blog

This week we were making factfiles about our favourite animals. We had to meet the following success criteria:

I can…. have a bold title

I can…lay my work out creatively

I can… have interesting facts

I can …. have eye catching pictures.

Here are some examples of our factfiles. Do you think they have met all of their success criteria?

Welcome from Miss Burton

Dear Parents/Carers,

I would like to introduce myself to you as the new Acting Head Teacher of Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community Primary School and share a bit about myself along with the vision that I have for our school community. Firstly, I would like to begin by thanking the children, staff and parents for already making me feel so welcome. It was a great opportunity for me to be part of the recent inspection process, and Mr Eagleson has been a great support in helping me to get to know the school community.

welcome letter

Kind Regards,

Miss Burton

Welcome to Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community Primary and Nursery School Blog.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Pumpherston and Uphall Station CPS – a warm and caring learning community.  We strongly believe that all children are individuals and we work hard to ensure that they are happy and achieving well in all areas of their development.

We aim to prepare all our young people for the challenges of the future. Our learning environment aims to stimulate, challenge, support and provide opportunities to develop life skills. We have high expectations for all our children and we celebrate attainment and achievement inside and outside of school in a range of ways.

We take positive steps to promote effective partnerships between home, school and the wider community. We have an open door policy and you will, as parents and carers, always be made welcome. We hope you enjoy looking at life within our school and nursery and we would welcome your comments under any blog posting.
