P6 Outdoor learning

Primary 6 really enjoyed going outside in the nice weather to engage in some mindful drawing. They had a look at something of their choice and worked on their sketching skills to draw it. Some lovely results shown below.

P6 outdoor learning

We took our spelling outside this afternoon, competing in “Spelling races”

Each spelling group had to race up and be told a spelling word, race back and write their words down then repeat. Great fun!

Primary 2/1

This week in Maths we have been learning about multiplication. We practised our numbers and times table facts in chalk in the playground.

As part of our topic work on minibeasts, we have been learning about food chains and how insects and other small creatures play a vital part in them. We found lots of different minibeasts outside.

P6 Parliament trip

On Tuesday, Primary 6 went on a school trip to the Scottish Parliament.

We were given a presentation about democracy and learned about the difference between devolved and reserved laws.

The class then went on a guided tour around the parliament and got to see the debating chamber.

After the tour the class engaged in a Q+A session with our local MSP, Angela Constance. We spoke about matters local to us, such as the proposed closures of the Swimming Pools across West Lothian and what this will mean to us.

P6 had a great day!
