Parent Partners at PUSCPS
The next parent partners meeting will take place in school at 6pm on Tuesday 30th of January. All parents and carers are welcome. This meeting will give us the chance to have conversations and share ideas between parents/ carers and the management team.
Parent Partners at PUSCPS
Parent partners is a group who work on a variety of projects throughout the year to benefit the children and the school. All parents of school and nursery children are welcome to join. At the meetings held we are able to discuss ideas and issues concerning the school and the education of the children with the management team.
We have recently merged the fundraising group (PFSA) and the Parent Council to form our Parent Partners group. Parents can concentrate on the projects they wish to be involved with.
The fundraising side includes organising and running the school discos, bingo nights , Christmas Fayre as well as helping at out at other events such as the Scots Assembly and P7 Prom. All monies raised at these events goes back into the school, supporting the children for instance, by subsidising school trips, providing ‘Sumdog’ and in a variety of other ways.
We have developed many different projects within school such as the Developing Young Workforce Week. It was great to see so many parents come into school to talk about their jobs and share their skills with all the children.
This year one of the projects that we would like to focus on is ‘Safe Routes to School’. It would be great to hear the views of any parents about the risks to our kids in getting to school and how we could change this. We will keep you informed of any progress that we make.
We usually have meetings twice a term though there may be more frequent meetings coming up to a school event or if we are required to act upon a specific issue. The meetings have been held in the school on a Wednesday evening at 6pm although we are keen to make times suitable for all.
If you are unable to make the meetings but would like issues to be raised by Parents Partners please email puscps.pc@gmail.com or hand in a note addressed to Parent Partners to the school office. We will let you know the date of the next meeting as soon as possible.
Christmas Fayre 2017
On Friday we held our annual Christmas Fair, organised by our Parent Partners Group. The choir opened the event by singing some Christmas songs and all the classes had taken part in Enterprise projects which they sold at the fair. Our nurture groups, outdoor club and parent craft club also had stalls. Our P7 Young Leaders came along and worked at some of the stands and even set up their own nail bar. Thanks to everyone who organised the event and to all those who visited and donated to school funds.
Christmas Singalong
On Friday morning at 9.15am, we will celebrate our Christmas assembly, to which all parents and carers are invited. Pupils from P1-P7 will sing a selection of Christmas songs, which I’m sure you’ll want to join in with, and we will be joined by our chaplain, Mr Povey. We look forward to seeing many of you on Friday at 9.15am.
Remember that, on Friday, children can wear their Christmas jumpers and bring a donation to raise money for the Green Gang.

P1-3 Buddy’s Gift Book Bags
There was lots of excitement in the infant department today as P1 received their Bookbug Bags from their P7 buddy’s. They looked through the bags together and P7 read them some stories.
P4 gifted P3, and P6 gifted P2 with their Read, Write, Count Bags. They explored the bags together and even found some games to play.
The P1-3 children will take their bags home tomorrow, and we have invited parents, carers and families along at 2:30pm on Tuesday to look through the bags with their child.
