Primary 3

What were we learning?

To take on a role in a business enterprise task.

How would we know if we were successful?

  • We would be able to create ‘business teams’.
  • We would be able to identify key questions to ask for market research.
  • We would be able to carry out a survey.
  • We would be able to interpret the data and act upon the results.

What did we do?

  • We have been given a challenge to create a brand new app for children to use!
  • We were put into groups and created business characters, uniforms and team names.
  • We brainstormed key questions for our surveys and discussed which information we would need to help us.
  • We asked P2S to be our audience and conducted our market research.
  • We recorded data using tally marks and used a block graph to display some of the results.

Our next step is to explore business roles further and see why they are all important when creating a new product. We will also use the results of our market research as criteria for designing our apps!

Until next time…

Christmas Fayre 2018

On Friday we held our annual Christmas Fayre, organised by our Parent Partners. We started in the fayre in our PUSCPS tradition of the school choir singing.

All our classes, including Cosy Corner and Club Wild contributed to the fayre through their learning in enterprise. They also created posters to help advertise their products.

Some pupils even set up their own stalls.

Our Parent Partners set up a range of exciting and fun activities including a treasure hunt, guess the Legos, guess the reindeer birthday, refreshments, face painting and outdoor games.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our school fayre, whether it was donating something, helping to set up, visiting or helping out on the day, we really appreciate everyone’s support. Also thank you to our P6 and P7 helpers who suported the fayre on the day. There was a fun, festive community feel on the day.

A special thank you to our Parent Partners and staff, who helped to organise such a successful event to raise funds for our school. Mrs Thom is busy counting up the money and we will let you know the total as soon as possible.

The Christmas raffle tickets are on sale until the end of term.

Pumphie Pals: House Chant

Our House and Vice Captains have created a house chant to say at assembly when they win the house points for the week, or term. They used our new green screen to record the videos and taught them to their Pumphie Pals group.

At Pumphie Pals we had a Santa Holiday Challenge:

  • In January, Santa is going on his holidays to a sunny desert island.
  • What 7 things would Santa take with him? Draw these in the suitcase.

P1-3 Nativity Tickets: Angel Express

A reminder that our tickets for Angel Express are on sale at the office.

Our P1s are performing and P2-3s singing in the performance.

Each child is entitled to 3 tickets per show, at a cost of £1 per ticket, which includes a tea/coffee and mince pie.

Performance dates are:

  • Wednesday 19th December at 9:45am
  • Thursday 20th December at 1:45pm

Fun Time Friday Take 3!

Today we had our third Fun Time Friday of the school year. Fun Time Friday is an opportunity for all our children to select an activity that they are interested in and take part in it with peers across different classes. We had a range of activities to choose from which the children brainstormed at Pumphie Pals last session.
