Primary 1 check-in

Good morning boys and girls!

We hope you are all well and are managing to keep busy and healthy.  It has been super hearing from you via email messages and photos.  It is lovely to see your learning and leisure time activities.  Keep sending in as much as you can as it really makes our day when you are in contact with us.

You can send us a message by replying to this post or contact us by email at wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk to ask any questions or share what you have been up to.

Please remember that if you don’t have a printer at home you can use your jotter or paper to write your answers.

Take care

Mrs McJimpsey and Mrs Hardie  xx

Parent/ Carer Self Evaluation Questionnaire

We would be grateful if you could please take 10 minutes to fill out our annual parent/ carer questionnaire. This will help us reflect on our successes for this session and improvements for next session.
You can complete one questionnaire per family or one per child.
You will find the link below, many thanks in advance.

Primary 1 Learning Grid 11.5.20 – 15.5.20

Hi Boys and Girls

We hope you are all well and have had a good weekend.  The weather has been good for getting out on a bike or a lovely walk in the local area.

It’s been great hearing from you via the school email and seeing photos of what you have been doing at home.  We have attached the learning grid for this week, along with some additional pdf’s.

Remember that you can send a message through the blog by replying to the post or email me at wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk to share your learning.

As we do not all have printers, children can complete their work in their jotter.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Take care,

Mrs Hardie & Mrs McJimpsey  😎 😎

Welcome to Primary 1 at PUSCPS! (Nursery Children)

This letter will be issued to our new Primary 1s this week!

We have been informed by pupil placement that you have a place in our school for Primary 1 – how exciting! We would like to welcome you and your family to Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community School.

The Primary 1 staff have made this Sway to give you a virtual tour of our school, if you click on the link you can see a Primary 1 classroom, our school building and most importantly – the staff who work in our school. If you are in our nursery, you might want to discuss the areas and people you already know.

We will match you up with a buddy who is currently in our Primary 6 class (moving into Primary 7). They will help you with finding your way, teaching you routines and being a listening ear. You will find out more about your buddy soon.

Transition into Primary 1 will be a little bit different this year. We have created a Sway that we will update each week with a transition activity. The Sway will ask you to complete an activity and either share a picture on your online journal or email to the school. We look forward to finding out more about you.

Your primary school years are some of the best years of your life and our staff are very excited to help you make those important memories.  I will be making a phone call to you over the next few weeks but in the meantime if you wish to contact us, please email us: wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk

Sumdog National Contest starts tomorrow!

Sumdog’s National Numeracy Contest is almost here! It starts tomorrow at 8am, and finishes at 8pm on May 14.

Here are some things to keep in mind during the contest:

  • Students can play at any time.
  • For the score to count, the National Numeracy Contest activity must be showing in the green panel on the left of the student’s screen when they click to start each game.
  • Their scores are based on correct answers.
  • A class’s score is the average of the scores from all students from that class who take part.
  • To appear on the leaderboard, at least 10 students from a class need to play.
  • As some students have limited computer access, every student is limited to 1000 contest questions. However, their free logins let them keep playing other activities afterwards.

Good Luck!

Primary 1 – Home Learning – 6-8th May

Good morning boys and girls!

We hope you all had a lovely long weekend with your families and are all safe and well.

It’s been great hearing from you via the school email and seeing photos of what you have been doing at home.  We have attached the learning grid for this week but it doesn’t have as many activities on it because this is a shorter week.

Remember that you can send a message through the blog by replying to the post or email me at wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk to share your learning.

We hope to hear from you soon!

Take care,

Mrs Hardie & Mrs McJimpsey  😎 😎
