We have been busy settling in to our new class, learning the school routines and getting to know our new teacher.
In class, we have spent time talking about how we can make our class a happy and safe place to learn and what our adults in school can do to help us.
Here are some photos of us busy in Primary 1 and of our Class Charter (Our Pinky Promise).

Primary 2&1 have been working on their class charter.
We learned a little about the rights that children have and listened to the story ‘Let’s Explore our Rights’.
We then linked these to our school values (Nurturing, Ambitious, Respectful) and made ‘promises’ that the adults/children could do to make sure our classroom is happy and safe. #responsiblecitizens

Primary 2/1 & Miss M 🙂
During our first week in Primary 6 we worked on ‘Building Our Community’. This is where we were reminded of school routines, expectations and standards, alongside getting to know our new teacher.
As part of this we created our Class Charter which displays our understanding of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) which applies to all children. We recapped about ‘Rights Holders’ and ‘Duty Bearers’ which we then added to our charter.
We worked as a class to pick UNCRC rights that we felt were most important to us and matched our shared vision for this year.
Our shared vision for this year is displayed in our classroom.
I have attached an update with our PE days and times for this term alongside some additional information to keep you updated on our focus for the first 2 weeks of term 1.

This week in Maths we have been learning about multiplication. We practised our numbers and times table facts in chalk in the playground.
As part of our topic work on minibeasts, we have been learning about food chains and how insects and other small creatures play a vital part in them. We found lots of different minibeasts outside.
Primary 1 took their learning on time outside this week. We made our own clocks and challenged our classmates to tell the time on our clock.
For outdoor learning this week, Primary 1 completed a block challenge where they had to build a form of transport. One group worked as a team to design a train and the other group designed a rocket.
We had great fun at the Judo Taster Session yesterday working with partners to try different moves. 
Primary 1 are excited to share their learning on life cycles next week at the class assembly. The assembly will take place on Friday 19th May at 11 am.
