Primary 4

On Friday, during together time, a group of children decided that they would create a club of their own called the Creativity Club.  They created a chant for their club and performed it together.  They also thought about sustainability and decided to create pictures using pencil shavings from sharpened pencils based on an activity that had been done at a group attended by one of the children.  The boys decided to draw pictures of aliens.

P5 visit Stirling Castle

As part of our learning about life in the 16th Century the children went to Stirling Castle to experience what life was like in that time especially if you were rich! While they were on the trip they found out about a lot of things they had said they wanted to learn about.

Primary 6 Endangered Planet

This week, Primary 6 turned into wildlife investigators!

In Science lessons, we have been discussing the words ‘extinct’ and ‘endangered’. Miss McLaughlin set us an investigation task to research ‘endangered’ animals. We could choose to show our information as a video clip or poster.

We structured our investigations around three themes:

  • information about the animal
  • what makes it endangered
  • what the WWF are doing to try to stop this.

Miss McLaughlin combined our presentations into a wildlife ‘documentary’. She has added 5 dojos to everybody’s score for their hard work.

Click on the link below to watch (apologies, as some sections are quite quiet).

Check in with us again soon to see what else we have been learning!

Until then…

1 Plus 2 Languages Support

At Pumpherston and Uphall Station CPS, one of the priorities on our School Improvement Plan this session is the 1 Plus 2 modern languages agenda.

Children are taught French from Nursery to Primary 7. This year we want to extend this by introducing another language or culture in an informal way. Our Parent Partners thought that some families within our school and community could support us! If you can help us, for example a workshop with a class, a club or ongoing support, please fill out the form below.

Thanks in advance.
