Primary 4 – Internet Safety Week
L.I.
To explore the term ‘online identity’.
S.C.
I can discuss my online identity and how I present myself online.
As part of Internet Safety week, P4 explored who they are online. This included through profile pictures they have chosen, usernames, or the characters or avatars they like to use in games and how they choose what these look like.
Pupils completed an identity wheel to record how they represent themselves online without using their names.  The wheels were then shuffled and redistributed to allow pupils to explore how safe each method was.
Group 2 at Dalguise
Miss Burton had the pleasure of working with group 2 at Dalguise. We had lots of fun pushing ourselves to try out new activities, and demonstrated a supportive, have a go attitude.
Our first activity when we arrived was archery, which we all had a go at and really enjoyed.
The next activity was the challenge course, we loved it! Mainly because we got muddy. We worked as a group and in pairs to complete different tasks.
The zip line took some of us out of comfort zone but we supported each other to have a go.
Problem solving helped to develop our communication and team work skills. We worked together to solve different problems and puzzles.
The sun shone us on us as we tried out the giant swing.
We loved aeroball, it was lots of fun trying to score points by getting the ball in the net whilst bouncing on the trampoline.
The most challenging of all activities was abseiling. This really pushed out of our comfort zone. We each set ourselves a challenge as to what we wanted to achieve.
Our last activity was the sensory trail. We had to around a trail in the woods with a blind fold on. This helped us to use different senses.

Primary 6 – Safer Internet Week
What were we learning?
* To explore the term ‘online identity’ and what it means for us.
How would we know if we were successful?
* We would be able to discuss our own online identities and consider how we are presenting ourselves online.
* Discuss the term ‘online freedom’ and say how we use this.
What did we do?
* We created an online identity wheel to think about how we present ourselves online (in terms of usernames, profile pictures, avatars).
* We explored scenarios where ‘online freedom’ had been appropriately/inappropriately used.
* We considered how we express ourselves online and if there is anything we can do to be ‘free online’, but still keep ourselves safe.
Check in with us next time to see what else we have been learning!
Until then…

Primary 3 Internet Safety
As part of Internet Safety Week, Primary 3 have been learning how avatars can be used as a profile picture in place of a photograph to keep us safe and to also show our personalities. We created our own avatars and talked about how they represented us.
We also talked about what do if something makes us feel uncomfortable when we are online. We know that it’s important to always tell an adult we trust.
