Primary 7 – Class of 2020!
Better late than never! Sorry for the delay!
Although our end of term celebration was a bit different for Primary 7 thid year we still celebrated in PUSCPS style with an end of term, physically distanced P7 Celebration morning.
It was fantastic to welcome every back for one last time altogether.
We even rolled out the red carpet to welcome everyone back!
Mr Reid popped by to say hello and explain the changes to S1 at Broxburn Academy.
Some of our house and vice captains shared their experiences of being a house and vice captain.
All of our children shared their favourite memory of their time at PUSCPS. We had collected these in their P7 Team before the event and it was fun to hear them all.
We presented our Primary 7s with the traditional gift of their certificate, high school tie and dictionary to use in S1. We also added in a some PUSCPS coloured sweets!
Miss Burton reflected on their time at PUSCPS and shared some advice for the future, using Alice in Wonderland quotes.
We ended the celebration with a fantastic surprise – a silent disco!! Thank you to our Parent Partners for funding this, it was a lot of fun.

NHS Guidance on Attendance at School
We know that this is a confusing and uncertain time as we learn how to follow the guidance for Covid 19 symptoms and testing. We would request that all families take time to re-read the guidance below, this should support you in deciding your child’s attendance at school. It is important as a whole school community we follow this guidance to keep everyone safe.
The NHS guidance is:
- Please don’t send your child to school with symptoms which may be coronavirus (a new persistent cough, and/or a high temperature, and/or a loss or change in taste or smell).
- If your child or anyone in your household has symptoms you should ALL stay at home. Find out how to organise a COVID test on NHS Inform or phone 0800 028 2816. If your child has symptoms but tests negative they can return to school once they have had no symptoms for 48 hours and are feeling better. Please show the teacher the negative test result. This helps monitor cases and keeps the school community safe and reassured.
- If you return from an area with quarantine restrictions keep your child off school and stay at home for 14 days. A negative COVID test will not shorten quarantine as it doesn’t show if you or your child will develop the virus. Updated travel information is on gov.scot
When you phone our office to report your child’s office we will ask if your child or anyone in the house have symptoms and remind you of the NHS guidance.

P7 Responsible Roles
Primary 7 were super excited to find out their new Responsible Roles today! Although the roles may look a bit different this year, they still have an important leadership role to play in our school.
During school closures they completed an online form job application to apply for the role they would like to be considered for, stating the reasons why.
Their Responsible Roles in the playground  are:
- Magical Mediators
-
Playful Pals
-
Safe Security
The children will start their rota on Monday supporting P1 and 2. We will establish new job descriptions to keep everyone safe and keep to our class bubbles.
