P6 Reflections on learning

“I was successful when I learned fractions with Mrs Campbell because I had forgotten how to do fractions.”

“The best part about Thursday was Golden Time because we played fair and nobody cheated so that made it better”

“This week I enjoyed the Magik Circus where we focused on the mood and atmosphere.”

“Last week all the p6’s got to sit at the tables outside because p7’s where at camp!”

“Since Miss McLennan told us she’d like to know what we’ve been up to lately,  this is what I’ve been up to – I was at horse riding on Monday and on a pony called Sam and on Thursday.  When I had my private lesson,  I was on my favourite horse called Monty. On my maths test I got 20/20.” Amy

“I liked it when we were colouring with the pastels and I loved drawing the whole school from that height.”   Holly

“I liked Tuesday when it was P.E. because we went outside in the playground. We were sprinting and I also liked when we were doing P.E. with p5 it was really fun. ”  Zoe

Primary 3

A big thank you to all the primary 3 helpers who came along to the Health Open Evening to show the parents all the different fitness classes we can do with Cyber Coach. You were all great and the evening was a terrific success.  Everyone is having great fun today wearing their pyjamas to school. Primary 3 had a fashion show where all the boys and girls walked the catwalk  to show off their stylish bedtime wear!

P7’s Week

P6 and P7 football team represented the school at Mid Calder Gala on Wednesday. We played brilliantly, the team work was excellent and we really enjoyed it.

We settled well back into school life after our camp experience.

Our Health and Wellbeing curriculum evening was very successful and 8 of us taught our parents about keeping safe at home. Thank you to Bruce, Ashley, Declan, Lewis T, Wiktoria, Danielle, Lauryn and Megan.

P2 Sculptures

As promised in an earlier post here are some of the wonderful sculptures in the style of Andy Goldsworthy that the P2 children made from the materials they collected.  Enjoy!

Primary 2 learn about Kiddush Cups

Last week Primary 2 children made Kiddush cups.  Kiddush cups  are used by the Jewish people on Shabbat. The cup we saw on the internet was more than 100 years old.  Kiddush cups are for drinking wine out of, after you say a blessing.   We will learn more about Shabbat in Primary 3.
