Our second day is over and everyone is tucked up in bed. Dinner this evening was roast beef or stir-fry noodles, before a final activity and then campfire or scrapheap challenge. We have taken lots of photos and will post these tomorrow. Good night from Mrs Mooney, Ms Young and Mrs Dickie!
Nursery learning to keep safe!
Over the last few weeks the nursery children have been learning about keeping themselves safe. We initially began to talk about keeping ourselves safe at home, using talking boxes and photographs. Over the last couple of weeks we have moved on to keeping ourselves safe outside. We have used the ‘Let’s go safe with Ziggy!’ resource, a set of stories and videos which help us to learn about keeping safe in the car, and crossing the road.
Day 2 at Camp!
Day two has been so busy! The 3G swing, high ropes, and leap of faith have been challenging but it is lovely to see the children developing confidence in trying these new things. Mrs Mooney asked one of our pupils what they thought they’d been learning about at camp. His reply? “Teamwork, communication and friendship” It’s great to see them making friends with people they’ll see again at high school. Lunch today was a choice of chicken nuggets, baguette or baked potato. I’m sure you can guess what the most popular choice was!
P7 camp – more photos!
Photos from climbing and the Jacobs Ladder yesterday! Lots of children were nervous at first but did really well to overcome their fears and give it a go!
This morning the children were all up in time for breakfast. They have been to the shop and are currently tidying their rooms before starting activities at 9.30am. More photos will be posted later on today hopefully (internet connection allowing!).
P7 Camp day 1!
And so we have reached the end of our first day! You’ll be pleased to know that our campers are all in bed and have had a fantastic first day here. Breakfast tomorrow is at 7.30am, so hopefully they all have a good night’s sleep and are up early for a full day of activities. Here are the first of the photos from today. We will post more soon – the internet connection is a bit slow so please bear with us! Good night from Mrs Dickie, Mrs Mooney & Ms Young.
P7 camp!
We arrived safely at Dukeswood this afternoon and the first job was to unpack and make beds! The children have taken part in lots of activities today including indoor climbing, orienteering, aeroball, bushcraft, fencing, and Jacobs ladder. We have also enjoyed a lovely dinner where children had the choice of curry or pasta. Mrs Dickie will post all our photos from today as soon as possible. Everyone is having a great time and looking forward to a campfire and scrap heap challenge this evening.
P7 Camp Update!
Calder Pyjama Party!
As Calder received the most Dojos last term, they requested a pyjama party. Jessica and Katie organised a range of games, pyjama corners, pass the pillow, stuff the pillow and bed sheet parachute games. We also had lots of nice treats for snacks. Thank you to all the Primary 7 Young Leaders who helped to organised the party.
Happiness!
This morning at assembly we launched Emotion Works by looking at the emotion of happiness!
We first of all watched a clip about ‘joy’ from Inside Out.
Primary 6 helped us to understand different words for happiness.
Then we looked at how we feel and what triggers us to feel happiness.

We then watched a video that showed how we show happiness at PUSCPS, we also discussed how music and other people smiling can make us feel happy and smile. M

Mrs Dickie told us all about the Rockie Rockstars who are coming to work with us week beginning 30th April.
We finished our assembly with our Living our Values Certificates.
