The playground is, naturally, quite icy at the moment. Â The pupils are loving it and we are enjoying seeing them have so much fun in the outdoors.
Walking, sliding and playing on icy pavements is a part of life, and there is a great deal of learning, fun and personal development that can come from pupils exploring the world in this way.
However, icy ground is obviously a greater fall hazard than normal. Â We have spoken to all the children about “planning their own safety” and we would encourage you to do the same at home. Â Ice can be great fun if we are sensible and careful when we use it.
Please speak to your children about how to stay safe on the ice. Â Stopping children from playing on it isn’t the answer, they need to learn to manage this risk responsibly.
Last session you helped create a new set of Values for our school:  POSITIVE – UNDERSTANDING – SUPPORTS – CONFIDENT – PERSONAL – SUCCESS
To make the values a meaningful part of our school life, pupils need to understand and use them. Â At Pumphie Pals last week, we made up character names to help us understand and use the values more. Â P4 worked with Mr Eagleson to create the figures to go with each character, and here they are:
We had a great turnout again for our 2nd Families Learning Together session. Â It’s such a great opportunity to share learning with your child and hear how enthusiastic they are about their learning.
We have FLT sessions throughout the year so there will hopefully be one which will fit with busy home schedules.
The next session is Monday 12 December at 5pm.

Next Friday (25 November) is our monthly Dress Down for Charity day. Â This month’s donations will be in support of BBC Children in Need.
The theme for this year is “Spot-tacular” and it would be great to see lots of spotty-dotty boys and girls (and adults). Â If you choose to send in a donation we will send this to Children in Need to support some of the most vulnerable children in the UK and overseas.
Due to an update to the system, we have had to change the format of our blog. Â The information is all still the same.
On the front page you will see a selection of the most recent posts in three columns similar to a magazine. Â There are a number of drop down menus at the top with information on the school and links to each classes blog posts.
Please have a look around and enjoy all of the fantastic posts from the pupils. Â Any comments on their learning is always appreciated by the pupils.
