Author Visit for P4-7: David Goutcher

As part of our World Book Day celebrations Primary 4-7 will take part in author visit on Tuesday 6th March. David Goutcher is the Scottish author and games developer of the children’s books, Spy Quest.

Children will have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of his book for £6.99 payable by cash or cheque.

We did have a letter about this event about which was meant to go out to parents/ carers on Wednesday.

PUSCPS World Book Day

As we were meant to be celebrating World Book day this week why not try out some of the activities below:

Tune into the biggest book show on earth by clicking here.

Click here to find out information about World Book Day due to snow closures and activities you can take part in.

Find some story time online videos here.

Use the comments section below to share your learning or send us a tweet @PUSCPS.

We will schedule our families reading together sessions and our PUSCPS World Book Day activities for another time and will alert you to the change in dates.

Why not share some photos of you reading or playing in the snow in your costume so we have a sneaky peak of who you are dressing up us. Send you photos to our Twitter feed @PUSCPS or our email address wlpuscps@westlothian.org.uk

World Book at PUSCPS

Don’t worry everyone – we will reschedule a date for you to come to school dressed as your character and let you know as soon as possible. The snow day will perhaps give you more time to think about your costume! We can’t wait to see them.

Families Reading Together

Please remember that our ‘Families Reading Together’ sessions take place in the library after school on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Our P7 helpers will be there to help from 3.15-4pm! Here are some photos from Monday’s session, when some of our nursery children enjoyed hearing stories from the P7s and our librarian, Moira. Some of the other P7s were busy making posters to advertise the sessions. We hope that you can come along and support them!

PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership)

Our nursery peep groups have been running now since November both in the morning and the afternoon. We would really like to encourage more parents/carers to come along to keep the groups viable.

As a parent/ carer you have an opportunity to come together with your child and make a real difference to their learning and development just by listening, talking, singing, sharing stories and playing together!  It’s fun!!

Please consider coming along just to see what it is all about!!
