Be an Author – Book Week Scotland Competition

Last week we set all classes a free writing competition inviting them to create a piece of writing on any theme or in any style for Book Week Scotland.

Our house and vice captains had the difficult job of judging the competition this week.

P1-P4/3 created theirs on paper, and P4-7 uploaded theirs to Teams.

Congratulations to all our fabulous authors!

PUSCPS Christmas Countdown 2020

Please see below a list of the ways we hope to celebrate the festive period with our children. Staff and the Parent Partners have brainstormed ways we can safely celebrate in our class bubbles and raise some money for school funds (instead of our Christmas Fayre).
We would request that children come to school dressed for their class Christmas Celebration rather than go home at lunch time to change into their party clothes.
I am sure you will agree we have managed to still plan lots of exciting opportunities to celebrate this festive period and our Christmas trees have gone up today!
As always, thank you for your continued support!

PUSCPS Christmas Raffle 2020

Dear Sir or Madam,

Christmas will look little bit different this year but we would still like to have our normal Christmas Raffle to raise money for school funds.

We are hoping for some support from local business to help us with this fundraising event for our school in the hope that we can still continue to fundraise for our school, even in these unprecedented times.

We have a raffle each year we ask for donations for the prizes. As your organisation is part of our local community we hope that you are in a position to donate an item for the raffle to support the work of your local community school.

We realise in this financial climate that any donation you feel able to give is very generous and would be greatly appreciated by us all; pupils, parents and staff.

If you can make a donation, please contact the school on 01506 280995 or email our parent partner group at puscps.ps@gmail.com and we will make arrangements.

Thank you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Burton

Head teacher

Book Week Scotland Dress Down

A gentle reminder that children can come to school dressed as a book character for Book Week Scotland on Friday 20th November (tomorrow). If they would not like to take part in this event, we would request they wear school uniform as normal. There is no donation for this event.

Remembrance Day

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Poppy Appeal, we raised £71.15.

This year Miss Burton laid a school poppy wreath at the Pumpherston Memorial as the P7s were unable to due to restrictions.

Classes also marked Remembrance Day by having a 2 minute silence in class.

Halloween @ PUSCPS

This year we celebrated Halloween at school! Due to all the restrictions we thought it would be a good idea to celebrate with their class. Look at all the strange and scary creatures who arrived at school on Friday!

Thank you to everyone who donated.
