Pumpherston Library

As a school community we are very lucky to have an onsite community library. All our children from nursery – P7 have the opportunity to visit the library as a class during the school week. You can also continue this experience by visiting the library as a family, please see the leaflet below for opening hours.

Why not pop in after school to find out more?

Welcome to our Nursery!

We look forward to welcoming back our old and new nursery children tomorrow (Tuesday). Our nursery staff have been working hard to ensure there are lots of opportunity for pupil led, open ended play. We welcome Ms Young to our nursery team, as an early years practitioner in the morning sessions.

Our am session is 8:10am – 11:15am and our pm session is 12:18pm – 4:15pm.

For our new children, please see a member of staff and ensure you have completed your enrolment forms. We look forward to seeing all your smiley faces tomorrow.

Welcome to Primary 1!

Welcome to all our Primary 1 children starting school tomorrow. Please enter the school through the front office and meet in the dinner hall at 9am. You can come into class with your child and have a first day photo before saying good byes. We have even made a wee pack to help you relax while you leave your child in our care.

Please collect your child from the front office at 3:00pm.

We look forward to seeing all our new smiley P1 children.

Welcome Back to School

Today our staff have been very busy making the final preparations for our children to return to school tomorrow (Tuesday). We have caught up on all the West Lothian policies and guidance and have looked at the year ahead, which we look forward to sharing with you at Meet the Teacher on Thursday 13th September.

On Tuesday morning, breakfast club will be open from 8:10, and our school playground will be open from 8:30am for safe arrivals. School starts at normal at 8:50am. Can we please request, at pick up time families do not enter the playground until 3:10pm, as some classes may still be using the facilities.

Unfortunately our new P7 ties have not arrived but we look forward to them arriving shortly. Until this happens, P7s should wear their white shirts/ polo shirts.

We look forward to welcoming back all our children and are excited about the year ahead for our PUSCPS family.

Good Bye Miss Morrison

On Friday we said good bye to Miss Morrison as she leaves us to to East Calder Primary as Acting Principal Teacher.

We will all miss her and we thanked her for all her support and encouragement to our children, staff and families. Good luck in your new post and please come back to visit!

Visitors from Malta

On Friday we welcomed 52 delegates and residents from Mtarfa in Malta, who are twinned with Pumpherston. Guests included Mayor Attard and Joanne Mifsud, Head of the local primary school. We entertained our guests with a Scottish Celebration Assembly including dancing, singing and reciting poetry. The visit was organised through Pumpherston Community Council and we look forward to developing a partnership with the primary school on Mtarfa.
