PUSCPS Christmas Raffle 2020

Dear Sir or Madam,

Christmas will look little bit different this year but we would still like to have our normal Christmas Raffle to raise money for school funds.

We are hoping for some support from local business to help us with this fundraising event for our school in the hope that we can still continue to fundraise for our school, even in these unprecedented times.

We have a raffle each year we ask for donations for the prizes. As your organisation is part of our local community we hope that you are in a position to donate an item for the raffle to support the work of your local community school.

We realise in this financial climate that any donation you feel able to give is very generous and would be greatly appreciated by us all; pupils, parents and staff.

If you can make a donation, please contact the school on 01506 280995 or email our parent partner group at puscps.ps@gmail.com and we will make arrangements.

Thank you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,

Sarah Burton

Head teacher

Remembrance Day

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Poppy Appeal, we raised £71.15.

This year Miss Burton laid a school poppy wreath at the Pumpherston Memorial as the P7s were unable to due to restrictions.

Classes also marked Remembrance Day by having a 2 minute silence in class.

Primary 7 Investigate Children in Need

We started with a general knowledge quiz, using one of our favourite apps – Kahoot!

Primary 7 decided if they wanted to work on their own, with a partner or in a small group. They also decided if they wanted to do a digital or paper presentation. They used a range of different devices to support their learning and presentation.

They researched by using links on their class team and searching Google to find the answers to the key questions.

They used their class Team to share their finished presentations – some are still a work in progress!

Here are some of the finished presentations:

Easy Fundraising at PUSCPS

It has been brought to our attention by a member of our Parent Partners that our school has an Easy Fundraising Account.

Easy fundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for your favourite cause. How? Just start your online shopping first at easy fundraising, then shop as normal. Our retailers will then make a small donation to say “thank you”.

They have 3,771 retailers to choose from and so far we’ve raised over £28 million for thousands of community groups, schools, sports clubs, small and large charities across the UK. Easy!

The link for our school is:

https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/puscps/?q=pumph&cat=cause-autosuggest

You use this to create an account. Then every time you shop, if you log in through this website first the school receives a donation to our school funds without any cost to you.

We would appreciate it if as many families and friends could sign up to support us.

Halloween Fun Pack

Our parent partners have created a Halloween Fun pack for children to complete and keep at home. They include lots of fun activities such as jokes, stories, colouring, word searches, etc.

There is a nursery – P3 version and P4-P7 one.

They will be on sale this week with a suggestion donation of 50p plus. The house and vice captains will visit the classes each day to sell them. Unfortunately we are unable to give change.

We would love for you to share some of the completed tasks either on Online learning journals, Seesaw or in the Home Learning channel on Teams.
