Mrs Thom’s Retiral

Dear parent/ carer,

I am writing to inform you of the news that Mrs Thom, our school administrative assistant has decided to retire at Easter. The decision hasn’t come lightly to her but she feels that this is the right time for her to leave education, to spend more time with her family and grandson. Her post will be advertised via My Job Scotland and I will keep you informed of the progress.

Mrs Thom has worked at PUSCPS for 10 years, and prior to that was a Pupil Support Worker at Williamston Primary School and other locations across West Lothian. I think you will join with me in agreeing that Mrs Thom is one of the friendliest and helpful school secretaries there is! No job is ever too big for her, she approaches everything with a smile, she keeps us organised and she nurtures us all. She will be a great loss to our school community.

I would personally like to thank her for all her advice, time, support and hugs since starting PUSCPS, we have had a great partnership and friendship together with many laughs along the way. She has supported me with doing things the PUSCPS way, whilst also embracing change.

Kind regards,

Miss Burton

Breich House Party

Breich received the most house points for term 2 and decided on a Pyjama Party as their house treat. Everyone dressed up in their pjs or onesies and the Primary 7s had organised lots of game like corners and sleeping lions. Thank you to our house and vice captain of Breich for organising such a fun party!

Dress Down Day

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 31st January is a dress down day. If your child takes part in the dress down day we would please request that they please make a donation, as it will be used for their class to purchase some wet playtime resources (as requested by the children).
As always, please no football colours or crop tops.

Scottish Assembly

Today we celebrated all things Scottish at our Annual Scottish Assembly.

Primary 1-4 submitted two finalists and Primary 5-7 submitted 3 finalists from their classes to recite a Scots or Burns poem.

A huge thank you to our judges Dr Hughes from the Robert Burns World Federation and Mr Jenkins, a local friend of our school who is in the Burns Federation. The winner from each class will be entered into the West Lothian Burns Competition.

We had some fantastic dancing Scottish.

The classes all also learned Scottish songs to perform at the assembly.
