P1-3 Wriggly Nativity

The performance of PUSCPS P1 – P3 Christmas nativity, ‘Wriggly Navitiy’ will take place on two dates this year, Wednesday 18th December at 9.45am and Thursday 19th December at 2.00pm.

P1 will perform the Nativity, P2 and P3 will be supporting the cast or singing in the choir.

The capacity of our hall is limited and we expect a large turnout for this. Tickets for the performance will be available from the school office on a two tickets per child per performance basis. Once numbers are known, further tickets may be released.

The cost of a ticket is £1.50. This includes a hot drink and a mince pie. Tickets will be available to purchase from the school office from Monday 25th November. Please put your order in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and class.

Anderson shelter update from P7

Today we had a very special delivery to the school from Burton Roofing Manufacturers.  Primary 7 wrote letters to Burton Roofing to ask if they could help us for our project – to build our own Anderson shelter as part of our WW2 topic.  They were kind enough to offer their support and have very generously supplied us with sheets of corrugated metal and all the fixings.  We have spent a number of weeks digging out the base, with the help of Sarah-Jane, for the shelter and we are at the point of almost being ready to build it.  Primary 7 and Mrs Andison owe Burton Roofing a huge thank you for the materials.  It is great to know we are supported by local businesses.

We will keep you posted on our progress.

Knit N Blether

Our knitting club takes place in our community library every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15 pm.
We have a great mix of parents and children who can knit or are wanting to learn. There are lots of other crafts that we can do with wool, so we make friendship bracelets and do a bit of weaving amongst other things.

Just now we are having a go at making phone cases, scarves, fingerless gloves and pom poms. Look out for the things we have been making on sale at the Christmas Fair.

West Lothian Gardening Awards Success!

Sarah-Jane and Miss Burton attended the West Lothian Council Gardening Awards on Friday 25th October. Our school received two awards:

  • Best Container Gardern
  • Best Decorative Garden

We received the beautiful plaque below and a gift voucher.

These awards for a fantastic recognition for all the work Sarah-Jane and our Gardening Club have done in the past year.
