Four of our Primary 6s joined schools across West Lothian at Howden Park this morning where they took part in the West Lothian heats of the Scottish European Educational Trust Euroquiz 2019. We were so impressed with how much of their own time they had used to learn about Europe. They answered four rounds of questions – geography, languages, European union and culture/sport/history of Europe. A big congratulations to our team!

Pupil Council Watch Annie at Kirkhill PS
Some of our Pupil Council had the opportunity to visit Kirkhill Primary and watch their production of Annie. They really enjoyed the experience and thought the show was excellent! Miss Burton also received an email from Miss McLaren, the Head Teacher at Kirkhill to say:
‘Your kids who came to the show were amazing … their behaviour and manners were exemplary and were an absolute joy to have in the school. I hope they enjoyed it.’.
Scottish Celebration Assembly
This morning we held our annual Scottish Assembly to celebrate all things Scottish. It was fantastic to have older family members, family and friends join us for the celebration.
We welcomed two judges for the poetry recitals, Mrs Thom from our office and Mr Jenkins a local resident who is part of the Burns Federation.
Two pupils from each class were selected to present at the assembly.
The judges decided on one child from each stage from P2-7 to go through to the West Lothian Burns Competition in February/ March.
The winners were:
- P2 – Jacob
- P3 – Sophie-Rose
- P4 – Eilidh
- P5 – Aaron
- P6 – Owen
- P7 -Lauren
Congratulations to the children who performed but also to all the children who recited a poem in front of their class.
Two girls from Primary 4 demonstrated some Scottish dancing.
