Miss Burton had the pleasure of working with group 2 at Dalguise. We had lots of fun pushing ourselves to try out new activities, and demonstrated a supportive, have a go attitude.
Our first activity when we arrived was archery, which we all had a go at and really enjoyed.
The next activity was the challenge course, we loved it! Mainly because we got muddy. We worked as a group and in pairs to complete different tasks.
The zip line took some of us out of comfort zone but we supported each other to have a go.
Problem solving helped to develop our communication and team work skills. We worked together to solve different problems and puzzles.
The sun shone us on us as we tried out the giant swing.
We loved aeroball, it was lots of fun trying to score points by getting the ball in the net whilst bouncing on the trampoline.
The most challenging of all activities was abseiling. This really pushed out of our comfort zone. We each set ourselves a challenge as to what we wanted to achieve.
Our last activity was the sensory trail. We had to around a trail in the woods with a blind fold on. This helped us to use different senses.
Some of our Primary 7 recently went on a residential to Dalguise.
We were so lucky with the weather and there was amazing scenery.
The first night we played Splash. We had to first of all complete tasks to earn points and the points enabled us to buy materials to make a protective container for our water balloon.
We all really enjoyed the food! There were lots of different choices so we all found something we liked and we really enjoyed the cooked breakfasts! Mrs Bonner can we have a cooked breakfast at breakfast club?
The final night we joined with other school and had a disco together in the Dome. Some children said it was like a concert!
The instructors at Dalguise all commented on our good listening skills and our have a go attitude.
I can’t believe it is almost time for Dalguise already!

Some tips from Mrs Andison:
A tip for parents of P7 pupils going to camp next week. I learned this tip from another parent and I think it is helpful for helping to organise your child’s suitcase.
If you put each day’s set of clothes into one labelled plastic carrier bag, one for Thursday, one for Friday and one labelled for the disco, it helps them to stay organised and to wear suitable clothes for the outdoor activities. In the past we have had pupils wearing clothes meant for the disco during the day, leaving them old outdoor clothes for the disco. This can be really upsetting for some pupils.
Please make sure they have suitable gloves, plenty of spare socks and their towel.
I’m really looking forward to going. We will have a great time – lets hope for some dry weather.
