Repost: Learning & Teaching at PUSCPS Event

A reminder, that we warmly invite you to come along and join us at our learning and teaching evening.

We often hear from our families, what does learning look like at PUSCPS and what are the school’s priorities.

Come along and find out from staff and children in an informal way what we have been focusing on this year!

We will even provide you with a wee tea or coffee. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday evening.

Those parent/ carers with an IDL invite will also be able to attend a workshop on this evening.

Fun Time Friday

Today we had Fun Time Friday. Fun Time Friday is an opportunity for all our children to select an activity that they are interested in and take part in it with peers across different classes. We had a range of activities to choose from which the children brainstormed at Pumphie Pals last session.

NSPCC – Speak Out, Stay Safe!

Today the NSPCC visited our school to share the message of Speak Out, Stay Safe with our children. They all shared the importance of having trusted adults to talk to. P1-3 and P4-7 took part in an assembly.

Primary 6 and 7 participated in workshops further exploring the messages delivered in the assembly by discussing different scenarios.

Primary 7 further explored this by using the kids section on the Childline website: https://www.childline.org.uk/kids

Digital Internet Safety Challenge in P7

This afternoon we used the app Kahoot to assess what we knew about social media, we loved trying out this new website! We made up nicknames not giving away our identity and answered different questions.

Then we discussed that although most social media apps and online games are for over 13 and 16 year olds, it was important to think about how we stay safe online, if our parents or carers give us permission to use these apps.

Miss Burton set us a digital challenge with a difference – we weren’t allowed to use PowerPoint!

First of all we brainstormed all our top tips and then selected our top 5!

Some of us made a Sway using our glow log ins.

Some of us made videos using the green screen and edited them using iMovie.

Some of us made a poster using Word.

Primary 7 Create Questionnaires on Glow

Primary 7 have created a questionnaire on Glow to ask chilren for feedback on their recent trip to Dalguise.

They logged onto Glow using their username and passwords, and` accessed their email accounts. Then they located the ‘waffle’.

They had to consider some of the different types of questions we might ask about Dalguise. Here are some of the finished forms:
