Nursery Developing the Young Workforce Week
This week the nursery children have been learning about the world of work. We have had visits from a firefighter, a postman and a care worker. We looked closely at some of the equipment Mr Fish uses to help him with his job. Mr Wilson let us try on his outfit and we learned that he can choose to wear three different types of hats – a summer hat, winter and a skip hat.  We talked about the role of a care worker with Kaz.
In nursery we set up our own Post Office with letters, post cards, stamps and labels. We can also weigh parcels to see how heavy they are. Our nursery fire station is set up with a telephone and emergency forms to fill in to tell the firefighters where to locate the fire or emergency. We also have home made hoses to put out fires.
Thank you to all our visitors who helped develop and support our learning this week!

Developing the Young Workforce – Final Call for Support!
At Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community Primary School, we are finalising our Developing the Young Workforce Week on 22nd – 25th May 2018. Last year we had great support from our school community. This year again we are asking if any parents, carers or members of our community can support this valuable learning opportunity for our children, as we really need your support for this week to a success. If you can offer some of your time to come into school or make a video about your job or interest can you please fill out the form below.
