Sumdog Maths Contest Update

Well done to P6 and P4 who have reached the leader board in the national contest.  583 classes in the U.K have qualified so far so this will be a real challenge!  Here are the results so far:

P6 – 344th

P4 – 361st

There will be an extra playtime and Class Dojo points for the leading class at PUSCPS.  Which class will it be??

P6 Easter Home Learning Challenge

Primary 6 have been issued with the Deputy First Minister’s Maths Challenge for the Easter holidays. It would be great if you could share your answers to the problems on Twitter using our school name @PUSCPS and the hashtag #eastermaths

We look forward to seeing your solutions!

Primary 4 Sumdog Competition!

I have been keeping an eye on our Sumdog scores for the competition and I would like to say a big well done to those of us in P4 who have joined in! 7 people from our class have entered which means we only need another 3 people to play to qualify and get on the leaderboard!

Extra special mention to Ava B who has currently answered the most questions in P4 in the last 7 days. Well done Ava!

So come on Primary 4, we can do it  if we work together!

Primary 1

Hello Primary 1,

We hope everyone is having some fun in the snow or a nice warm day at home!

There are Winter Ready ideas on the blog already but here are some extra activities to try out today:

– dress up as your favourite book character like you were meant to do today.

– login to Sumdog and join our school ‘Snow Day’ competition. Check out where you are on the leaderboard!

– Can you make odd and even amounts of snowballs?

– check whether people in your family have an odd or even number of letters in their name.

– Build a super hero snowman like your Supertatos from yesterday.

– Make a mini book about what you get up to on your day off. You can include pictures and sentences. Bring it back into school to share with the class.

– Hide some objects in the snow and make a map for someone to find them. You could even give them directions to find things in the house.

– Read a book to your favourite teddy or toy.

– Take a photo of you reading in an unusual place and post to Twitter or the blog.

– Explore your Book Bags.

– Build some words or play a game with your sight words.

See you all soon,

Mrs Strachan & Miss McLennan 😁

Festive Homework Final Products

A big well done to everyone who took part in the festive home learning task, the results are amazing! It is fantastic to see the efforts families have went to to complete the task.

I have really enjoyed speaking to the children about how they made their designs and what they used. We will share the results at the Sing-a-long tomorrow.
