House and Vice Captains

Our P7 Young Leaders had the opportunity to stand for House Captain this session.  They made videos for all pupils to see and then there was a vote from all the pupils in each house.  We are proud to introduce our House and Vice Captains for this session.

Golden Time

Primary 2-7 pupils signed up to their chosen golden time activity this week and had great fun playing with peers from different classes. All classes have been learning about Rights and Responsibilities since returning to school and article number 31 is a favourite – we have the right to play.

Building is great fun!
We had a great time playing field games.
I really enjoy art activities.
Outdoor play is great fun!
We made vehicles and raced them.
We loved construction!

Thank You Rhona

On Tuesday we held a thank you assembly for our fantastic lollipop lady – now retired – Rhona Ritchie.  Pupil Council planned the event and Rhona enjoyed a tea party with pupils from Uphall Station whom she had helped over many years.  We then had a school assembly with poems and songs to thank Rhona for her hard work over more than 40 years – and to congratulate her on her British Empire Medal and her retirement.

It was an emotional afternoon and we hope that everyone enjoyed it, especially Rhona.

What is bullying?

Pumphie Pals this week looked at bullying.  This term we’re launching our NOT IN OUR SCHOOL programme to help pupils deal with bullying.  We will be seeking views from home on this tricky subject later.

Pupil Council Meeting

The Pupil Council met on Thursday and it was a pleasure to welcome reps from Primary 1, 2 and 3 for the first time. Josh, Natasha, Sophie and Ella are going to be a great help to the Pupil Council.  At the meeting all of the Pupil Council reps shared their thoughts and ideas and were a credit to the classes they represent. We have another meeting planned in February when the Pupil Council reps are going to help prepare an assembly for the whole school. Some Pupil Council reps will also be busy in the next few weeks helping our support staff choose some new resources for the playground.
